Iloilo Province
Iloilo Province is a part of Panay Island which is scope of
Region 6 in Visayas. Almost people lived in Iloilo are Ilonggo except to the
foreigners and other people who came from other provinces.
The Iloilo province is a one progressive province in the Panay Island, one of the most popular province in the Philippines.

center of Iloilo Province with annual Dinagyang Festival. There was recorded that cannot be eliminated
in the mind in this current time and in the future probably that the Iloilo is
the most shabulized province in the Philippines.
One place which still raising its name in the Philippines
and to the whole world — the Gigantes Island. The Guimaras Island is also raising
its name like on the above mentioned place. Unfortunately the Guimaras Island
is not part of Iloilo Province — This Island has its own Province —
Guimaras Province. This Province is a popular in terms of Mango Festival.

1st District of Iloilo in Panay Island:
Miag-ao, Iloilo — this name was from plant Miagos. One
Municipality in Iloilo Province that have 119 listed Barangays.
Guimbal, Iloilo – one of the Municipality of Iloilo Province
that supply mangoes in Iloilo City; almost of the mangoes were delivered or sell
in the Supermarket. The Supermarket is located near in Robinson.
Igbaras, Iloilo – The word Igbaras was came from combination
of two words “tig” or “tag”which means season and “baras” or “balas” which
means sand. The word “balas” is common words in Northern Iloilo. If the words
combined in Hiligaynon term, its “tagbalas”; in English is in the current season
of sand. The Igbaras Iloilo is composed

portion Municipality of Iloilo Province.

Barangays.

Leon, Iloilo – composed of 85 Barangays; Municipality that
supply vegetables in Iloilo Province.
Alimodian, Iloilo – composed of 51 Barangays; the name was
from the grass Coix Lachryma – jobi (Alimodias) a tropical plant.
San Miguel – the Municipality is composed of 24 Barangays.
Santa Barbara – composed of 60 Barangays. The Municipality
is near in Iloilo International Airport which located in Cabatuan, Iloilo.
New Lucena - composed of 21 barangays

Pavia – This Municipality is almost near in Iloilo City,

Calinog – 59 and the name was from calm; in Hiligaynon term
was “Kalinong.”

was from salt which might incorrect.
Pototan – 50 Barangays; wrong information escalated that
this Municipality was called after “potot” the Hiligaynon term which means insufficient
of height. The correct information about the name of this Municipality; the
name was from a tree “putat” became kaputatan due to many putat trees. Now the
name is Pototan which from a tree name.
Mina – 22 barangays
Cabatuan – 68 Barangays, Iloilo International Airport is
part of this Municipality and near in Santa Barbara, Iloilo.
4th District of Iloilo Province
Here is the scope of 4th District of Iloilo:
San Enrique – people those live in San Enrique are called San
Enriquenhons and the Municipality is composed of 28 Barangays.
Passi City – the Iloilo Province have two Cities, one City
is the Iloilo City which is near in Guimaras Province and the Passi City is
Near in Capiz Province. The City is composed of 51 Barangays.
Dumangas – the name Dumangas was from two mango trees when
the Spaniards asked to the Native Man in the place and the man answered “Dos
Manggas” which means in English “two mango trees.” The Municipality of Dumangas
is scope of 45 Barangays.

List of 5th District of Iloilo:
Carles – this municipality in Iloilo Province was razed by
Typon Haiyan; the last part of municipality of Northern Iloilo; Masbate Island
is the next island. Place of attraction in Carles is Gignates Island.
Estancia – next in Carles is the Estancia if in coastal
base, if land base; the next from Carles is Balasan. Batad is next from Balasan
(land base) near in Estancia (coastal base) the Batad is the corn capital of
Iloilo Province.
San Dionesio – after San Dionesio is Sara, Lemery, San Rafael, Concepcion and Ajuy. The last Municipality is Barotac Viejo. These
are the 5th District of the Iloilo Province.
