Moses in the Bible
Moses in the bible was a messenger of God for His people those oppressed by Egyptians
and the oppression was the main reason why God remembered His promised to His
friend’s Abraham and not does it mean when God’s remembered His promised, He
had forgotten His promised to His friend’s Abraham.
There
was a man which was a Levite took a Levite woman and the woman begot a child
and she hid it within (Exodus 2:2) 3 months and that child was Moses. In this
story Moses had both Levites' parents and we can conclude that Moses is a Levite.
The
time had come that the woman could not hide the child anymore (mother of Moses)
and that time the order from the King Pharaoh, those all male children must
slay except the female. The woman took the ark of bulrushes and put the child
therein base on the chapter 2: 3 on the book of Exodus.
If
we continue to the verse 6; we have no idea whether the maid had compassion on
the child or the daughter of Pharaoh and that woman knew that child was from
the Hebrew.
When
Moses reached to the right age and he went out in order for him to see his brethren
and he saw the one Egyptians smiting his one Hebrew brethren, Moses killed the
Egyptian who tried to smite his brother and his work was disclosed and that
disclosure was the reason why he fled on the face of (2:15) Pharaoh after
Pharaoh received the information about the incident that made by Moses about
the killing and he dwelt in the land of median.
On
the verse 19 – 20 are the verses of conversation between the father of the
daughters that those saved by Moses and their topic is regarding to the works
of Moses. The first wife of Moses was the Zipporah as one of the daughter of
the priest. The first son of Moses was the Gershom.
Due
to oppression of Egyptians; might the Israelite prayed to the Lord God as the
God of their father and the God heard it and grant their prayers. The Angel of
the Lord as sent by God into Moses and that Angel talk with Moses and their
conversation was recorded on the exodus 3: 2 – 4: 17. These verses are the
conversation between the Angel of God and Moses as the start of became
messenger of Moses.
God
told Moses to back in the land of Egypt (4:19) due to the people who threat his
life were all dead already and Moses back in the land of Egypt together with
his family.
Aaron
was used by God to work with Moses and became a prophet of Moses and the duty
of Aaron is to speak the word of God from the mouth of Moses and all the words
of God was executed in accordance to the will of creator of the heavens and the earth. Moses presented those signs when the Israelite refused to believe in
what Aaron said as from the mouth of Moses as from the God Almighty.
Aaron
and Moses were successfully win the mind and heart of the Israelite after their
presentation of the signs in the sight of the Israelite and after of that incident
they went and talk before Pharaoh.
The first conversation of Moses and Aaron before
Pharaoh was a frustration. Pharaoh interpreted their words as; "due to the
workload of the Israelite is very light and that was the reason why they beg to
worship their God due to they have time to do it" and the Pharaoh commanded his
people to add the work load in order for them to become busy instead to worship
the false god as a lie by Moses and Aaron and the people of Pharaoh did so and
they add the work load in the Israelite. That time the Israelite scattered to
search the straw for their work as the main part of their products.
The
second conversation of Moses and Aaron before Pharaoh was stated on the chapter
6 verse 11as commanded by God into Moses to do the conversation. On the chapter
7: 6 was the execution of Moses and Aaron to talk again with Pharaoh.
The
age of Moses when they talk again with Pharaoh is 88 years old and Aaron had
age of 83 and that was the second talk to the king of Egypt.
The
second talk before Pharaoh was the presentation of snake and just an ordinary
rod before the presentation and in this type of presentation, the Pharaoh did
not believe in that type of sign due to the magicians those had capacity to do
so that sign performed before Pharaoh and competed the Moses and Aaron and God
commanded Moses to go with Pharaoh in the morning. Which signifies that after
the day of presentation was made.
The
water in the third conversation was became red and due to magicians and
enchantments those performed that type of signs that was created by the rod of
Moses, the Pharaoh did not believed again. The magicians and enchantments had
power to do so that type of sign. (We have no idea whether where they get their
power to do the same in what Moses and Aaron did.)
After
the seven days, again the Lord spoke with Moses and the next sign was the
plaque through frogs. God used frogs in order for Pharaoh Permit to worship the
Lord by the Israelite.
When
Aaron and Moses did that type of sign, the magicians did that sign as well and
that was the reason why Pharaoh did not listen to Moses and Aaron due to his
magicians can do that type of magic for Pharaoh and might Pharaoh though that
he just played by Moses and Aaron with tricks.
The
next plaque used by God after the frogs are lice and all beasts had lice even
the man and throughout the land of Egypt. Even in this type of plaque was
useless in the sight of the King even though the magicians could not perform
this type of method and they confess to their King that this work was made by
the Lord God but still the King never admit it.
The
next plaque that used by God was the swarm of flies in order for him to let the
Israelite go, to worship the God of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac. All land of Egypt
was covered by flies except the Goshen wherein the people of God dwelt.
In
this type of plaque that used by God in order for him to let the people go is
effective but with conditions; he let the people to worship the God but they
should back again.
We
can say that Pharaoh said that due to on verse 28 chapter 8 he said into Moses
that he let the people to go but not so far away in them which means they
should back after they finished to worship their God.
But
after the plaque was vanished through the power of God; the mind of Pharaoh was
changed and he revoked his words into Moses, instead to let them go, the King
hold them all again.
Again
the Lord spoke into Moses that he needs to enter and speak before the
King. Might after Moses entered and
spoke before the King, still the King did not released them and the word of God
was executed as His said into Moses if the King refused to release His people.
In
the next day, some animals of Egyptians were killed but the animals of the
children of Israel died no one. After
the killing of the beasts; the next plaque was the boil breaking fort with
blains and the victim of this type of plaque was the human and the animals. The
next plaque after the boil was the hail which has capacity to kill the beasts,
humans and even the herb.
After
this power of God, the King promised with Moses and Aaron that he will let the
children of Israel to worship their God to stop the hail and the thunder. After
the hail, rain and thunder were stop, the mind of the King was changed and the
King revoked his words again with Moses and Aaron.
The
next plaque was the Locusts and the mission of the locusts is to destroy the
herb and the remaining that was caused by the hail. Again the King called Moses
and Aaron for forgiveness just to cast out the plaque in the land of Egypt.
After the locusts were the darkness and the darkness light within three days in
the land of Egypt except on the houses of the children of Israel.
The
last plaque that used by God for His people in order for them to free from the
hands of Egyptian is the killing of the first born start from the son of the
King until to the servant’s son and even to the animals; except to the children
of Israel.
This
type of means to free the Israelite from the oppression is the last and
effective method that used by God.
On
the chapter 12 verse 11 was mentioned the Passover of the Lord God. God will
pass in the land of Egypt in the night in their time to kill the first born
both humans and animals. The blood in the houses is the sign in order the Lord
shall pass over in the houses which had blood in accordance to His words.
God
gave commandment into Moses and spoke unto the whole Israelite about the
commandments whether how to eat the lamb and the prohibition about the eating
of the cooked lamb on fire.
The
Passover which made by the Lord in the houses of the Israelite shall be unto
the Israelite as a memorial and a feast for the Lord and throughout the
generations and an ordinance forever.
After
the killing happened; that time the Pharaoh permitted the Israelite to go
without any hesitation. There were many plaques happened in the land of Egypt
and there was a reason that God used first the plaque which has no power to
destroy the life of human and the time had came, that time, that the Lord God
need to use the harsh plaque which had power to involve the life of human in
order for His people free from oppression as a son and daughter of His friend’s
Abraham.
In
these incidents God used a messenger named Moses and Aaron to free His people.
After the King Pharaoh permitted them to free for their liberty, that was the
start of the exodus of the children of the Israel and when the children of
Israel was in the course of their exodus from the land of Egypt, the mind of
the King of Egypt was changed and that changed was the reason of pursued after
the children of Israel and that pursued after was the reason of the end of the
life of the King Pharaoh.
In
order for them to escape from the hands of Egyptians; God divided the water and
the children of Israel walk on the dried land after the division of the water.
The Egyptians followed them. He used Moses to separate the water and that
separation was the means why the Israelite was escaped. The water was back in
his strength after Moses stretched out his hand with rod and the Egyptians were
drowned on the water.
Moses
Moses
is a first messenger of God to guide His people from the land of Egypt up to
the Promised Land Canaan. Is a prophet and a god for Aaron and Aaron served as
a prophet of Moses.
According to God, He chosen Moses to become
His prophet and messenger due to Moses was a meek man and no one like him in
his time. The first family of Moses might still in him during their exodus in
different places and he also took a woman to become his wife and Aaron and
Miriam opposed about it but the God was angry with Aaron and Miriam in their
opposition and might there was something not right in their words and the God
gave them a punishment.
Moses was a person who always received the
complaint from the people. Some people fought against Moses and their works was
the reason of their perdition. There was a time that the people of God
committed a serious mistake in the sight of the Lord and Moses prayed for them
for forgiveness due to the God was angry due to their transgressions.
A man that received the ten commandments of
God on the mountain that written by God to follow by his people and there was
corresponding punishment if one of the commandment was violated.
A man that received first the word of God and
he dictated the word of God that he received with Aaron to speak on the crowd
and even when they were yet on the land of Egypt when they faced and spoke
before the King Pharaoh.
Moses served as a god with Aaron and the
Aaron served as the prophet of the Moses. Does not mean Moses is a god but just
served as a god into Aaron due to all the word of Moses was repeated by Aaron
before the children of the Israelite.
Do not conclude that Moses is really god that
has power that can create things by his own word like God that created the
heavens and the earth nor like to the wisdom of God that exist before the earth
was made but just served only as god into Aaron for some reasons.
Moses had no power to reveal the future that
shall happen in the future like in the revelation that saw by Apostle John.
Christ is only a being that has power to unlock the seal unless to the God
Father compare to the other beings those currently existed particular with
Moses; the book of revelation is on the New Testament and the history of Moses
as a prophet of God and served as god into Aaron is on the Old Testament.
Moses never entered in the land of Canaan as
a Promised Land for some reasons and the one possible but not ascertains was
his transgression during their exodus and might due to his oldness and might
the God had mercy on him to send into war against to the other people.
No one had knowledge whether where the Moses
was buried by God. God was the responsible of the burial of Moses and not just
an ordinary man, and before he reached the land of Canaan; God said unto Him
that he should ascend on the mountain in order for him to see the Promised Land
for the children of the Israel.
Moses gave the whole responsibility into
Joshua as will of God to lead his people to enter in the Promised Land. Moses
wrote the five books according in some information and below is the list of the
book of Moses.
