Dynamite Fishing
The dynamite fishing was one of the options of the fishermen
if the weather condition was not in their side especially if there was law
pressure area and if there was inter tropical convergence zone.
Those factors are the common contributor why the fishermen
used dynamite fishing to sustain their daily needs. If the bad weather comes,
they used this means to get fishes and sell in the market due to some fishermen
used small boats to get fishes and those small boats can’t fight the devastated
wave plus the strong wind.
The dynamite for fishing might considered as improvised explosive device to kill fish. This type of livelihood was totally prohibited
due to its devastating effect to the sea floor. The dynamite can destroyed corals and other marine organisms.
After the explosion occurred on the sea floor created a
crater symbolized how the dynamite is powerful. Some fishermen used gun powder
as the main ingredient of dynamite as substitute in fertilizer. Some fishermen
used fertilizer; they cooked it with kerosene gas and they put it to the
container that serves as the main body of the dynamite.
Some terrorist might used this type of technique if there
was no available gun powder for their improvised explosive device but the power
of explosion might weak compare to the gun powder.
The fishermen used gun powder for their improvised explosive
device but seldom. Very common that they used fertilizer due to the fertilizer
can be buy anywhere.
The power of dynamite can destroy the small rocks, and other
materials which present on the area of explosion.
Some fishermen were lost their hands, eyes due to the
dynamite through accident. Some fishermen used dynamite to rattle the fishes
which was not designed to kill. Was designed to rattle the fishes to enter in
their nets; uses devices other than dynamite might takes a lot of time before
the fishes enter in their nets; that was the one reason even some fishermen
used dynamite; even though they have already net on the water; to support to
ease their work compare to the manual type of techniques to rattle the fishes
on the water.
They used dynamite but with limitation of explosive powder;
the purpose of controlling the explosive powder is to make the fishes rattle
not to kill.
Some fishermen created dynamite fishing with high volume of
explosive which designed to kill the fish to use but only in the coastal area.
The using of this type of tactics to get fish might
violation in the law; might falls in special law or violation against nature or
known as crimes against nature.
