Photography Meaning

Photography means was from the light write or draw — a combination of Latin words photo which means light and graphy which means to write; the combination was the light and write or draw and this is the real meaning of photography. The light was permitted to enter to the camera and that permission was the responsible why there was image formed on the film. 

The film paper was used to develop the image on photo paper and the used of photo paper that this type of means of taking of image by the used of the old version of photography that no one can edit the image.

The photographer used red bulb during the course of developing the image due to the red bulb has lower light density compare to the other color of light.

The light was the responsible of exposes of film paper that have chemicals to draw the light that enter on the light tight box. The cameras those have poor in terms of shuttle speed might have the possibility of over exposure due to the light was over and the image might blur; color white and other color maybe.

Sometimes the photographer needs artificial light especially if the weather condition was not in the side of photographer and the photographer used synchronized flash light. Not only if the weather condition was not in their side but the artificial light is very helpful during at night.

The artificial lights are those lights other than natural light like moon; sunlight and star light. However; the moonlight and star light is not useful to aid the photographer in taking of image from the subject.

Instead of those natural lights the photographer used artificial light for excellent outcome of the image.

Photography is very useful in terms of crime preservation through image. After the crime happened; the law enforcement officer will respond to the crime committed and proceed to the area and cordon to preserve the integrity of evidence. 

The investigators will investigate the crime scene with the aid of some personnel. Searching the area with using of one searching technique and search every angle, searching of evidence that may lead to the responsible of the crime.

Measuring the evidence that found in the crime scene, the position of the victim if available, take photo all relevant evidences, for immediate or in the future use.  The camera that has been used in the crime scene to preserve is the film – camera and not the digital and the likes.  

Due to the other digital camera and more other than film – camera can be edit by sophisticated software like adobe Photoshop CS6, CS5 and CC.

If the image is editable; in that case, makes the jury doubt and in the part of defendant’s party  as well that the evidence is not reliable, if not reliable, the court will decide to dismiss, the cause is due to demurrer of evidence.  

There is corpus delicti but the evidence that proves beyond reasonable in the part of the allegedly criminal is failed. The importance of photography is to preserve the crime scene through image which unable to edit by sophisticated software.  

Even the crime is simple damage of property still the image is important for recorded, for documentation and more. The photography is very useful in terms of crime against person.

The photograph was start from camera obscura or the dark room where the entrance of light is limited like camera in this current age, limiting the entrance of light to avoid over exposure of light in the film paper. 

Due to modern type of camera, the recording materials now are just a simple memory card and other artificial storage but in terms of solving of criminality, the photo paper is still useful in this area. There is exemption in the camera; the CCTV camera is useful crime prevention especially in safeguarding the property, houses, buildings, aid to the security personnel in monitoring the surroundings. 

The CCTV Camera is very difficult to maneuver especially in terms of screen shot to focus the physical appearance of subject in investigation. Unless in the outcome or the recorded video from the CCTV Camera. The screen shot from the CCTV Camera is not acceptable in the court due to can manipulate by sophisticated software unlike film – camera. 

The camera is an instrument for photography and the photography by using camera is useful in the law enforcement agency and called it as Police Photography and the Police Photography is studied by criminology students who want to be a criminologist someday.
