The domain authority increase if there was (were) site(s) connects to your web page(s) and serves as the signal with all search engines regarding with that website that carries important contents and this means the ranking in terms of search result might higher compare to the sites which carry not useful information for readers.

Some webmasters used black hat technique to maneuver the search result through buying of backlinks in order the other sites will connect in them intentionally by creating of blogs / articles to connect in that site which someday will cause of elimination from search result or totally banned by all major search engines around the globe by manual penalty.

If the domain authority increase, the possible effect in the whole site will increase the ranking in every keyword that provided by the site in their web pages and if on the top, might the article may expose around the globe with the readers who search information those needs answer with their queries.

But does not mean even though the site with high domain authority is the king all the time but also base with the information that carried by site. For example, the Wikipedia free encyclopedia; this site has perfect domain authority of 100. Which means about millions sites connected with this site and the reason of the increased of their domain authority.

Same also with the page authority; that site has 95 score of page authority which interpreted as on the rare status. If on the rare status; the every web pages of this site will rank almost let us say with at least on the second pages of the search result but almost are on the page one and almost number one on the search result.

But, even that site has perfect domain authority is the king all the time but depends to the user experience as well, to the content and if the content has answer with the specific queries of the searchers and if not even that site has perfect domain authority, the ranking of that article on that site which has perfect domain authority will decrease in the future if constant due to that web page has no answer for that keyword and if the keyword of that article is the information that search by the searchers on the search engine but could not compel the readers is worth of penalisation of course.

We cannot surpass that ranking due to they have 100 domain authority score and with 95 page authority score and will increase yet on the future. That only implies that the Wikipedia free encyclopedia have millions of back-links that no one can surpass.

By the way, what are the backlinks? Backlinks are those links which the other sites connected to your web pages; more sites connected to your web pages more excellent on search result and if excellent on search result, more readers from organic traffic and if more traffic, more income to the sites which generate income through ads on their sites.

That was the primary effect of domain authority on the site, if the domain authority increases especially if reached into a rare status, more income will generate by visitors through ads. The owner of the site provides articles for the readers who search information from the search engines like Google, Yahoo, Yandex and other search engines and provide ads as exchange of the articles that they provided for searchers of information.

The questions sometimes from the owner of the small sites and webmasters whether we can surpass in terms of ranking the Wikipedia free encyclopedia. The answer for that is big YES; we can surpass that site but not all the time or the whole of their articles. We can surpass or outrank them by at least one of our article by highest quality of the content at least one.

One article of our site can outrank that site but we cannot outrank as a whole. Just at least one article can outrank the one article of Wikipedia free encyclopedia but again we cannot outrank that site as a whole.

After they connected to your site, they disconnected it which affects to our domain and page authority and the effect is decreasing of domain authority and page authority.

The new site has zero page authority and zero domain authority and if the blogger used either the WordPress or the BlogSpot still needs of authority to outrank the other sites but search engine especially the Google does not use the authority to rank your article on the search result but the authority is just a prediction.
