The primary purpose of this tape with crime scene do not cross phrase is to preserve the integrity of evidence. Due to if the evidence was contaminated; it is useless due to have capacity not to prove beyond reasonable doubt to convince the jury whether the defendant of the case is guilty.

The jury is in the side of defendant of the case and if the jury saw something not right regarding with the evidence; that doubt makes the jury decide that the defendant of the case is not guilty.

Actually there was no law that made that phrase but the primary reason was created by law as the evidence should has credible to stand which means has capacity to prove beyond reasonable doubt therefore it needs a preservation and the crime scene tape with crime scene do not cross was made.

Might there was law that punishes the person entered even there was crime scene tape which only signifies the entrance is strictly prohibited but authorize personnel only which reads the crime scene and other authorize personnel which collects the evidence for examination purpose.

There is possibility that the person entered to contaminate the crime scene is the actual creator of the crime to mislead the investigation or the investigator of the case or the indirect participated the crime: in short the boss of the crime or known as the principal of the crime.

The worst is if the investigator of the case is the creator of the crime and intentionally put the specimen of the other people which the enemy of the investigator and send into the prison without any violation that made.

In this case; the authority should separate the authorize people that collects specimen at the crime scene and other authorize people other than investigator to avoid existence of planting of evidence.

There is no rule whether what is the size or the wide of the crime scene tape but the yellow color is possible mandatory due to that color has reflectorize effect if was hit by the light and it is better to use wide size crime scene tape.
